Getting there

The Hobbiton Movie Set is on private property and only accessible via scheduled tour bus from The Shire's Rest Café on Buckland Road. You must be at the café no later than 3:45pm to ensure that you can catch the tour bus on time, or you will not be able to make the wedding.

and back again

There will be a return bus back to The Shire's Rest Café at 10:30pm, and a final bus at midnight.

Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper?

We highly recommend you get lunch before attending the wedding, as you have a busy afternoon ahead with a guided tour. Perhaps check out The Shire's Rest Café! The tour ends at The Green Dragon Inn when you can grab yourself a drink, and dinner will start shortly after at 8pm.

Who is invited?

Because this is a ticketed event on private property, we cannot accomodate +1s. It is also a child-free event.
It's very important that you let us know if your plans change and you cannot attend

Dress code

Please note this isn't a costume wedding. Instead, think summertime in the Shire with bold primary colours, rich browns, forest greens, and deep burgundies. Hobbits aren't too fancy, but do prefer to be presentable. Waistcoats are common among the folk, as are swooshy skirts and a tidy shirt. We would love it if you could find yourself a flower crown and/or suspenders to wear on the day. If you're short on ideas, check out this inspiration board.

Photos and video

It's Hobbiton, so take as many as you want, but please put your devices away during the ceremony. We have a professional photographer and videographer on site.
Please do not post photos online of the Bride and Groom until they have done so themselves.

Wedding gifts

If you did wish to gift us something (we don't expect anything), in lieu of physical gifts, we're planning an awesome late honeymoon to Japan and after 11 wonderful years together we have everything we need, so would love a contribution to our honeymoon fund. (We cannot take physical gifts home on the plane)

Dietary requirements: Are you gluten-free coeliac? Vegan? Have a nut allergy? We'll pass it on to the kitchen staff.
Additional comments: Let us know anything else that might be important regarding the wedding and your attendance.
Can't make it any more?: It will be a shame if you can't make it, but we understand that life gets in the way sometimes. Please let us know as soon as possible if your plans change and you can no longer make it.
